About Us

ASU SkySong - The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center
Arizona State University’s SkySong exists to make an economic impact in the local, state and international markets by driving economic development and global enterprise. ASU SkySong helps grow the economy by launching and accelerating new companies and promoting use inspired research, in collaboration with local communities, state government, and business partners. ASU SkySong, and the dozens of emerging innovation driven companies located there, are dedicated to positively impacting the economies of our state and the country for years to come. The breadth of these objectives is just one way that ASU is different from other U.S. universities that have a strong economic development focus.
On-site venture development resources

Skysong's unique value comes from its proximity to and involvement with ASU, which has positioned its units most responsible for accelerating economic development and new venture creation at SkySong:
- The Economic Development and Corporate Engagement (EDCE) group manages a wide range of initiatives covering entrepreneurship, innovation, corporate partnerships and regional economic development.
- Arizona Technology Enterprises (AzTE) is ASU's exclusive IP management and tech transfer organization.
- Venture Catalyst at ASU is a new initiative that combines the expertise of these two groups to equip high-potential startups for success.
- Additional services include the Innovation Advancement Program, which provides legal and business consulting services to entrepreneurs; internship connections to ASU students; and others.
Global Soft Landing
Some U.S. universities provide limited market entry services for global companies, but few – if any – engage as intensively as ASU. For global companies looking to enter the U.S., our team analyzes the market opportunity, identifies potential clients, arranges and staffs those meetings, and makes investor connections. In this way we form deeper relationships with our clients and the U.S. companies and investors looking for these opportunities.

Flexible space

In contrast to traditional incubator spaces or larger technology parks, SkySong is a mixed use development and can serve the physical location needs of companies at any stage of their development.
Workspace options include:
Virtual - Access to a shared bank of desks, when available and with prior reservation.
Hot desk - For companies that need minimal desk space and want to work at SkySong on a regular basis.

Studio (cubicle) - For companies that need a little more storage space and privacy.

Office - For companies that need larger, exclusive space with a locking door and room for two visitors.

Developer space - Floor plans up to tens of thousands of square-feet for mature companies.
We would be delighted to discuss the affiliated costs and services for each option. Please contact Janice Kleinwort, Director of Economic Affairs, for more information and to schedule a tour.
