ASU Liaison
ASU SkySong offers a dedicated corporate liaison to help companies located at Skysong to find and connect with the proper resources of the University.
Business Development
SkySong has a dedicated global business development director that works with businesses engaged with and located at SkySong to generate business leads in the U.S. market.
Business Education
ASU Technopolis offers training, mentoring and networking services for innovation-based early-stage U.S. companies and global companies seeking to enter the U.S. market. Assistance centers on the marketing strategy, business plan development and accessing capital.
For larger companies, SkySong can be used as a training location. Connections with ASU provide options for continuing education and customized executive education.
Capital Networks
ASU Technopolis organizes Invest Southwest, the largest capital conference in the U.S. Southwest. It also has an extensive venture capital and angel network. ASU Technopolis and SkySong also host meetings of the Arizona Angel Investor Network, a group of accredited investors who invest primarily in Arizona-based early-stage and developing-growth companies. A number of notable Venture Capital firms (Finao, ATV) are located at SkySong.
Enterprise Arizona Venture Center (EAVC)
The EAVC, located in ASU’s SkySong space, is a comprehensive business development assistance program that provides overall account management for a global venture that wishes to use SkySong as its “soft landing” place in the U.S. and to take advantage of ASU as a trusted venture partner. EAVC personnel help a global venture develop market plans and get access to the contacts and resources it needs to execute. EAVC supports new technology startups with office space, access to business services (legal, finance, etc.) and continuing training geared toward local innovators and global firms seeking to start operations in the U.S.
Global Network
ASU’s global engagement efforts have resulted in an extensive global network of universities, innovators and businesses that SkySong locates can utilize to advance their business, both in terms of product development, but global marketing as well.
Product Development
InnovationSpace, an ASU program, provides sponsored project development services in its onsite space. The Advanced Technology Innovation Center, another ASU program, also contracts for development services. Both programs are available at below market rates.
Research, Intellectual Property & Licensing
ASU has a research enterprise of over $220 million in diverse areas applicable to commercial exploitation. Arizona Technology Enterprises licenses ASU innovations through a streamlined process for technology venturing that focuses on building long-term partnerships with external partners.
Technology Ventures Clinic is an ASU graduate student program that contracts with clients to provide intellectual property research, marketing research and other areas of technology venturing.
Workforce
ASU has over 64,000 students and produces 13,000 graduates annually. The majority are located at the Tempe campus, less than 3 miles away. SkySong participants have access to these students to work as part-time employees, interns or post-graduate recruitment. Faculty and research staff can also be contracted for higher-level engagement to advance a company’s growth.
