Sebit, LLC Honored with 2008 EDDIE Award

Adaptive Curriculum Recognized as Best Middle School Math and Science Website

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (Oct. 13, 2008) – Sebit, LLC has been honored with a 2008 EDDIE Award for its online learning system Adaptive Curriculum. Now in its 13th year, the Annual Education Software Review (EDDIE) Awards are presented by ComputED Learning Center, and target innovative and content-rich programs and websites that provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence.

Adaptive Curriculum enhances learning in math and science for students in the middle grades. The online learning system offers Activity Objects that package educational content as single-topic, interactive segments that can be used in a variety of learning environments. With realistic, engaging visuals, Activity Objects enable students to participate in virtual experiments, guided inquiry, and problem-based learning that helps them gain the skills necessary to excel in math and science.

“We’re thrilled that Adaptive Curriculum has been honored for its high-quality, engaging content in math and science,” said Pat Walkington, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sebit. “Students’ learning behaviors have changed dramatically in the last century, and Adaptive Curriculum offers educators the interactive instruction they need to capture their students’ attention in math and science.”

The winners for this year’s EDDIE Awards were selected from titles submitted by software publishers around the world. Products were chosen based on academic content, potential for broad classroom use, technical merit, subject approach, and management system.

The ComputED Learning Center and award program review stated: “Adaptive Curriculum is an outstanding online system that uses highly enhanced 3-D visuals and animations to engage middle grade students in learning applied science and math. The program offers a rich library of math and science Activity Objects, allowing children to test various strategies, manipulate simulations and practice concepts related to real-world scenarios.”

The ComputED Gazette is the sponsor of two annual software awards programs, and is published by the ComputED Learning Center, San Diego's leading computer educator resource. To see the organization’s review of Adaptive Curriculum, visit www.computedgazette.com.
